POSITIONNEMENT
– Reports directly to the General Manager;
– Position based in Kinshasa Democratic Republic of Congo. Settling in DRC with family is important.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Deputy Managing Director is intended to succeed the current Managing Director on the latter’s retirement. Together with the current Managing Director, he assumes full responsibility for the management of the company, according to terms and priorities to be agreed with the current Managing Director.
He will be responsible for the business development of the current departments, namely Chanitec, Chanic Equipments, Chanimetal, Chanic Approvisionnements and the Real Estate Division.
He will also have to draw up a development strategy for the company, based on its assets and liabilities.

The Deputy General Manager supervises the following aspects in particular:
– Financial management:
budget cycle: budgets, reporting, re-estimates, cash flow plans, … ;
management with the CFO of tax and customs controls, etc.
– Sales management:
commercial negotiations with customers for large orders;
marketing proposed by the Sales Department (website, leaflets, advertisements, events);
control of all important quotations (financial and/or technical).
– Production management:
with the Technical Directors, overseeing production planning and compliance, investments and inventory management;
control with the Procurement Department of major purchases and negotiations with local and foreign suppliers;
optimize procurement and define inventory requirements.
– Property management:
optimization of real estate assets (rental or sale of unused properties);
administrative management of real estate sales;
property maintenance.
– Legal management:
litigation follow-up with our law firm.
– Administrative and HR management:
develop, motivate and lead the management team;
Daily update on all aspects of personnel management with the HR Director;
support for new recruits in strategic positions;
monthly monitoring of costs, negotiation of major departures, optimization of medical care (choice of centers, contracts);
selection and interviews for expats, executives and key positions;
supervision of ratings, training and career plans;
drawing up and monitoring contracts for key positions;
participation in union meetings and management of salary negotiations;
contact the authorities;
insurance follow-up.
– General Secretariat:
preparation of Boards of Directors and General Meetings and supervision of follow-up (legalization, archiving).
– IT management:
IT department supervision (hardwares, softwares) and transition to new software.
– Supervision of the QHSE department:
procedures;
participation in Health and Safety meetings.
DIPLOMA AND/OR TRAINING REQUIRED
A Master’s degree in a technical or engineering subject is an important element.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 5 years’ successful experience in a similar position in Africa.
The successful candidate will be able to count on the support of the current Managing Director during a transition period to be determined by mutual agreement.
